Cocoa Beach Redfish Report

Report Date: August 30, 2007

Windy conditions have made fishing tough but not impossible along Florida’s east central coast. On the Indian River Lagoon, redfish and spotted sea trout will provide the majority of action for light tackle and fly anglers. The water has warmed up to the point where jack crevalle, ladyfish, snook, and tarpon are showing up in good numbers. I like to target redfish and sea trout at first light. There has been good numbers of schools of redfish ranging from 30 to 100 fish in a school . Lager sea trout can be taken on top water with some outstanding results
